THE ARBOR NETWORK

The Arbor offers a network of service providers specializing in marketing, editing and reader services. It is the intent of the Arbor to expand the network to include other valuable services for our writing clients.

Betty Parham of Lafayette, Colorado has 25 years of journalism experience with a major newspaper in Atlanta, Georgia. She is skilled in writing all marketing materials from creating a killer synopsis to dynamic press releases. Her “can do” attitude enlivens her work and makes collaborating with her a positive learning experience.

While a coach can guide you to discover and hone your editing skills, you may prefer to hire a professional editor. For this purpose, we offer the expertise of Niwot resident Pam Martin, an MFA graduate of Naropa University’s Creative Writing Program, and previous owner of The Enchanted Bookshop in Niwot, Colorado.

The Arbor maintains a list of readers available to review a final manuscript with “fresh eyes.” A reader’s unique skill is the capacity to provide pertinent written and/or verbal feedback to move a work forward. After reviewing the piece, the reader articulates strengths and areas needing work, how the work flows, where it grabs the reader or loses interest, and what could be developed more fully. We recommend that the author consider using two or three readers at the same time to obtain a broad perspective. There is a flat fee for this service.
